Another Ellis Engineered bowsprit achieves Line Honours Victory!

Congratulations to the Maxi 72, “URM Group”, Line Honours Winner of the 2024 Noakes Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race. Anthony Johnston’s “URM Group” claimed the win with an elapsed time of 1 day, 7 hours, 14 minutes.

Over the past three months, Ellis Engineered has provided design and engineering services for the Maxi 72’s new and extended bowsprit, providing additional projection for the spinnakers and separation between the tight luffed furling sails.

Also competing in the race, Ellis Engineered clients, “Whisper” owned by David Griffith finished second across the line and TP52 “Koa” finished fourth. “Jupiter” owned by Ian Smith finished a creditable 5th on IRC in the double handed division.
